The Light of Life

The sunlight has a way of exposing what may not be seen under artificial lighting. My office desk is located near a window that allows in the natural lighting. However, being that we are currently in the winter season, the sunlight that normally beams in, has been in hideout for a time. Yet this morning, I was unexpectedly blessed with a beautiful ray of sunshine as I began my workday. Oh, how I missed you, was my thought, as I sat there for a moment to take it all in. In that same moment I became aware of the dust that had accumulated over the last few weeks. I failed to notice the dust, until the sun exposed it. Now that I knew it was there, I proceeded to dust and wipe down my area. As we all know, dusting is a continual process, because the dust I wiped away will return, as it does accumulate over time.
Just as the sun shined in exposing the dust that was hidden under the artificial lighting, the light of Jesus shining on us exposes our need of His continual refinement. Just like dusting is continuous, the process of refinement and transformation is continuous.
Jesus' light is illuminating which brings clarity to what we can not see with our eyes. His light also brings humility, because of His grace and mercy upon our lives. We can do nothing apart from Him. His light does not condemn or put us in despair, but exposes our need for Him daily. His light reminds us that by His sacrifice, we have been cleansed, redeemed, and freed from the penalty. As our minds are being renewed/refined/re-tuned with this truth, we are simultaneously being transformed. His light reveals and gives revelation to His truth, and nothing but the truth. His truth is what sets us free.
He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
