The Eye of the Beholder

There is something about staring into the eyes of the one you love. You feel this sense of trust and security and even joy. Some studies have shown that it enhances intimacy or even draws couples closer. This made me think of the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. How true that is in relation to our Lord. He is our beholder and we are His masterpiece. We are His beautiful creation. The thought of gazing into the eyes of our beloved Jesus, made me ponder on what that looks like or even means for me. The words I immediately heard in my Spirit was peace, be still. As I began to meditate on this , the Lord reminded me of the following;
As I look to him He promises that:
I will find rest because fixing my eyes on Jesus compels me to give my care and concerns over to Him. I no longer fret over what I can not control but instead I receive peace when I chose to give it over to my Lord who stands before me.
The wind and waves obey Him, therefore He can calm the winds and the waves around me (Matthew 8:27)
He renews my strength when I look upon His goodness and wait upon him. (Isaiah 40:31)
He gives me perfect peace because my mind is stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3)
There is no need to be afraid because He will uphold (Isaiah 41:10 ) me and protect me (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
He gives me hope because He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all that I can ask think or even imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
In moments of despair He reminds me He is close and near and brings me comfort. Jesus sustains me. (Psalm 55:22)
I challenge you today to look to Jesus regardless of what your circumstances look like. As you look at the one who beholds you, your beloved, what is He reminding you of today? My prayer for you is that you will experience His rest, peace, security, comfort and joy today as you gaze upon Jesus and may you come to know Him more intimately.
Blessings,
MG
