The Apple Doesn't Fall Far from the Tree

Many people can easily identify a singer by hearing their voice, an author by a quote, or a specific brand by its logo or unique style. In the same way, we too are to be identified with whom we follow or represent. As a follower of Jesus Christ, His ways should rub off on us. Our speech becomes more reflective of how He speaks. We also begin to love like He does. I think many of us have heard the saying “the apple doesn't fall far from the tree”, meaning a person displays the same characteristics or qualities as their parent/s. When people see us, they should know that we have been hanging out with our Heavenly Father. When you spend time in His presence, a certain “aroma” begins flowing from you, and His shining light begins to illuminate from you. I encourage you to practice being in His presence in all circumstances because when you do, you will see not only more of His qualities become a part of you but you will also have developed a habit of welcoming Him into every situation, and that’s when peace sets in. As you continue to run this race, my hope and prayer are that you will begin to shine like Christ more and more, and many will say “the apple does not fall far from the tree” when they bear witness to you living out your life for Jesus.
