The word "cling" has been on my mind for the last week or so. It seems to have resurfaced for me multiple times and of course it has caught my attention. When I think of the word "cling" I think of holding on tightly with all my strength. One of the definitions I found on Merriam-Webster.com was “to have an emotional attachment or dependence, or to adhere as if glued firmly.”
What a great visual it gives in relation to our relationship with Jesus Christ. Just as a child clings on to his/her mom or dad for safety, we are to cling on or adhere to our Heavenly Father. Hold on for dear life, because Jesus is life and our lives are sustained through Him. When fear tries to take hold of you cling on to Jesus. Cling to Jesus in your best season. Cling to Jesus in your worst season. Cling to Jesus when nothing seems to make sense. Cling to Jesus while receiving a bad report. Cling to Jesus when finances seem beyond repair. Cling to to Jesus in the dry seasons. Cling to Jesus when a situation may seem impossible. As a believer, clinging to Jesus brings comfort in every season that life throws at us. Also, in every test the Lord brings our way, it brings this confidence in all that He is and all that He is able to do. It brings complete trust allowing us to rest in our trying seasons. Whatever you do, cling on to Jesus because I promise you it is the most secure place you can be. Cling on and let Jesus do the rest.
